A personal project to make Amazigh easier to learn
I am Moroccan, a developer, and I currently live in China, a beautiful country that has given me a lot to appreciate. Living far from Morocco also made me miss my country more deeply and pushed me to look closer at its history, culture, and languages.
When I was growing up in Morocco, we were not really taught enough about our own culture and history. That always felt sad to me. Things are different now, and I am happy to see more awareness, but I still found it hard to find a simple and good source for learning Amazigh.
My grandmother used to speak Amazigh with relatives. Because I did not understand it, she would speak with me in Darija, the Moroccan language shaped by both Amazigh and Arabic. Now I realize that I need to learn the original language of my mother's side: Amazigh.
This website is my way of starting. It is not perfect. I am working on it while learning, and I know I will make mistakes. But I want to keep improving it, word by word, so it can become a useful place for anyone who wants to reconnect with the language.
